This drug is useful for postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed after therapy with tamoxifen.
Dosage of Aromasin (Exemestane)
The recommended dose of this drug in case of early and progressed breast cancer is one 25-mg tablet once a day after a meal.
Post-menopausal women with early breast cancer who have been cured with tamoxifen during 2-3 years should continue the therapy with Aromasin (Exemestane) in the absence of recurrence or contralateral breast cancer until they fulfill the whole adjuvant endocrine therapy of 5 years.
The persons that take a strong CYP 3A4 inducer, such as rifampicin or phenytoin, should take 50 mg of Aromasin (Exemestane) once per day after food.
Warnings
Tablets of Aromasin (Exemestane) should not be administrated by women with known allergic reactions to the pills or to any excipient of this preparation.
